China remains a key partner for Russia in terms of the supply of components for military equipment, despite its public statements of neutrality and calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. Chinese companies supply important components for Russian drones that are actively used in fighting. These actions have caused serious concern of the international community, calling into question Beijing’s long-term geopolitical goals.

In recent days, Russia has significantly intensified its attacks on Ukraine, having carried out one of the largest combined missile & drone attacks since the beginning of a full-scale invasion. On August 26, 2024, more than 230 units of air attack weapon were used against Ukrainian territory, including missiles and drones. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces showed true courage and skill, shooting down 102 missiles and 99 drones. However, despite their efforts, the attacks led to tragic consequences: seven people were killed, and more than 50 were injured, including four children.

On August 11, 2024, Russia carried out yet another dangerous provocation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), once again demonstrating its unwillingness to adhere to international norms and regulations. Around 8:00 PM, a fire broke out at the plant’s technical water supply facility, igniting cooling tower number one and damaging other critical equipment. This is another alarming signal, indicating the real threat of a radiological disaster that continues to loom over all of Europe.

The problem of militarization of children in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine is one of the most acute and tragic issues that have arisen in the context of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war. Since the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the occupation of part of Donbas, Russian authorities have been actively engaging children in the militarization process, which has become the main element of ideological influence on the younger generation.
