The Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Zied Ladhari, in the presence of Mr. Omar Bahi, Minister of Commerce, and the Swiss Ambassador to Tunisia, Rita Adam, signed today a convention on the Swiss import promotion program (Sippo).
Funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco), Sippo facilitates imports from countries in transition, such as Tunisia, into the Swiss and European markets. This program is worth almost 4 million dinars and is being implemented by the Swiss contact Foundation to help exporters gain access to new markets.
A first phase of the Sippo program in Tunisia covers the period 2017-2020 with a budget of more than 1.5 million Swiss francs (nearly 4 million dinars). If successful, it may be followed by two subsequent phases of the same duration. Three economic sectors will be covered: high-value fishery products, processed foods and natural ingredients.
