Arab foreign ministers have called for the UN freeze on Libyan assets abroad to be lifted. Making the call at the Arab League foreign ministers meeting in Cairo yesterday, they said that access to the money was needed by the Presidency Council (PC) to fund services needed by the Libyan people. The ministers also reaffirmed their backing for the Libyan Political Agreement and the PC and the importance of having no dealings with any other parallel authorities or institutions. However, they also supported new moves for dialogue, but under the supervision of the UN and the Arab League. Declaring the importance of Libya’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, they again stated their rejection of any outside interference in Libya affairs unless there has been a request from the PC.
