The attendees of the African Union summit on Libya have confirmed in the final statement of the Brazzaville-held political event that there is no military solution in Libya, adding that only a Libyan-Libyan dialogue without foreign intervention can solve the crisis. “There should be more efforts to prevail security and stability for the citizens in Libya so that presidential and parliamentary elections can be democratically held in the country”, the statement said according to the UN-proposed government’s media office. The HoR Speaker, Aqilah Saleh and the Head of the High Council of State, Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, were also present in Brazzaville in addition to Al-Sirraj.Sources said that Haftar’s invitation to the African Union summit was withdrawn few days before Saturday after his presence was rejected by several parties, most importantly, Al-Sweihli, who threatened of not attending the summit if Haftar did because Haftar has got no political authority to be one of the attendees. The UNSMIL’s Head, The Arab League’s envoy to Libya, representatives from the African Union, European Union, South African President, Nigeria, Algeria, Sudan, Chad, Guinea, Egypt, Tunisia, and Mauritania, in addition to Congo’s President, were all present in the summit.
